I have just returned from a hapkido seminar in Auburn, AL (advertised on this forum). Despite the unexpectedly low attendance, it was a phenominal experience.
GM Lim taught, to all levels, various dynamic defenses against grips, grabs, punches and knife attacks. He also spent a large aomunt of time on knife fighting basics and knife-on-knife skills. Amazing detail was given regarding the finer points of certain more difficult techniques so that all involved learned someing...from the lower kyu/gup attendees to the 5th Dan host, Scott Baeder.
As a bonus, Mr. Baeder included a section on pistol disarms using an airsoft pistol for increased realism - so you knew if you got shot or not!
Overall, it was an awesome experience that I wish I could repeat in the near future. I only regret that there weren't more there to abosord this invaluble information.
