Just a comparison between 1980 and 2004's graphics. At least the asteroid in 2004 looks like an asteroid, instead of the potato (yes, they did use a potato in 1980).

What's with the color shift to blue? I LIKED the greys in the original.

Cool. They really cleaned up some of the scenery. I liked the windows they added to cloud city.

Maybe they figured in some sort of doppler effect of the object coming towards the camera? Is it shifted to a longer wavelength when moving away?

I like the grey more too.

The blue shift seems common in all the stills, not just the ones of moving images, so I don't think that was it.

Probablt just doing some color restoration and thouht the bluer tinge had more of an edge
