I have also seen some PTK instructors (who I respect greatly) wield the knife with the edge inward (facing them). Which is the standard PTK way of holding the knife in the pakal grip? Is it an either/or kind of deal or does it really matter? Since stabbing is the primary manner for implementing a knife, both techniques wok well. Are both ways equally used and if so, what are the pros and cons of each way? From my limited experience, with the blade inward, the wielder can pull back after a stab. With the blade outward, slashing comes into play... more like--dare I say--a karambit.
