Ed Parker Clips

Thanks very much, MJS. Very neat to see Mr Parker in action, although I could do without all the jawing in the intros, LOL.

LOL, yeah I know. Aside from that, I thought that the clips were great!

Keep in mind these videos are being set up in an effort to cover both people who knew/trained with Mr. Parker during his lifetime as well as people who don't know the backstory or where these were, etc. The intros are to give backstory for people like me who came into the kenpo scene more than 10 years after the SGM's passing.

Good point Steve! :)

Thanks for making me aware of this site. I am not a Kenpo practitioner, but I was a regular reader of Inside Kung Fu for many years and read many of Parkers interviews. It is so cool to see him speaking in person!

Me too. After all, if I'm going to get in trouble at work for watching vids, it should be for action, not talking.

Interesting to see the comments about the narrative.

Maybe I missed something, but for those of you who are making the snide remarks about the narrative on each clip... How much did you pay to view these clips?? I would hope you would have enough class to recognize the time, money and effort to make these clips available in a professional manner and AT NO COST to the general Kenpo and martial arts public. Maybe, just maybe, a little respect is due for the folks that went out of their way to do something they didn't have to.

With this, I agree. I miss seeing the old man move, and these clips spark some great MOVEMENT memories, as well as nostalgic ones. Between these and YouTube, hopefully the next generations of kenpoists will have a sense of what their system looks like when put into motion by its founder, and how it was a work in progress that changed over decades...never truly a stone-etched finished project, as it's father was always givng it new facelifts.

Thanks for the stuff, Bill. Keep up the good work.

Personally I liked the narrative with the clips. the narrative personalized the tapes and added background information that put the clips in context.

I agree.

It would be great if someone could put all the old video of GM EP on one tape with a narrative.

Too bad MT does not have a "VH1: Behind the Music" section. But we can call it "MT: Behind the Grand Master". :)

Compliments of KJ3, who was kind enough to post this on youtube, here is another clip of Master Parker.

Thanks for sharing these clips James.:asian:
