Kuoshou or Guoshu means National Art it was used around 1912 by the Republic of China and it refers to Traditional Chinese Martial arts.
The term is another name for Kung fu.

Yes, exactly. Only the year was 1911 -- the year of the revolution. The term died out on mainland China but it was and is used extensively here in Taiwan. the mainland replaced the term with "wushu."
