Is anyone else weirded out by the Toyota Camry Hybrid ad or is it just me?
It starts as an innocuous family car ad. A nice white guy in the drivers seat and his nice white boy safely strapped in to his seat in the back.
"Dad, why do we have a hybrid?" the son asks.
"It's for your future," Dad answers and explains why more efficient engines are a good idea.
That's all good.
Then dad turns on the navi system, which prompts it's passengers to look at it by saying "Mira aquí"
"Dad, why is the car speaking Spanish?" the son asks.
"It's for your future," Dad answers.
I'm reading this as...in the future we will all be speaking Spanish.
