coup in the Philippines

What is your opinion on what is going in the Philippines concerning the recent events?

Ok let's say rebellion....
but contrary to the story G.M. Arroyo does not have a large public support.

This is the second time soldiers seize parts of Makati (Manila's business district), first time was in 1989.... the big difference is that
last fridays was a mutiny of young officers protesting against corruption in the army and government....
in 1989 the mutineers killed lots of peoples and wanted to take over the government replacing it by a junta, actually planing to rule by terror and murder....
the story says that after the failed putch of 1989 the rebel troops were punished by 100 pushing ups.... and kept their jobs....
actually the president just nominated one of leader of the 89 plot (a group accused of torture and salvaging, ie execution after torture) to head the scout rangers, THE filipino army elite troop as a reward of his support in the bloodless 2003 mutiny......
