Hello everyone.
I was doing some research on Chen style Tai Chi Chuan. I have 2 questions I need help with.

1.) What are Chen Wangtings Corpus of Seven Routines? Please explain in detail.

2.) How many push hand sets are there in Chen Taiji?

Thanks for any responses.

I apologize, I'm new to the forum. If there is a moderator around can you please move my topic to the correct part of the forum. I didn't realize where I posted till I done did it.

Sorry.

Chen Wangting's Corpus of Seven Routines

And you might get more and better info asking here

Define "sets"

I tried the link you suggested and I've read it before. Like many of the websites I've seen, I've only seen refrences to Chen Wangtings Corpus of Seven Routines.
Here is what Wikipedia said:

"The special nature of Tai Chi Chuan practice was attributed to the ninth generation Chen Village leader, Chen Wangting (陳王廷; 陈王庭; 1580–1660). He codified pre-existing Chen training practice into a corpus of seven routines. This include five routines of tai chi chuan (太極拳五路), 108 form Long Fist (一百零八勢長拳)and a more rigorous routine known as Cannon Fist (炮捶一路). "

Still kinda' vague.
I'll try the other link you suggested.
Thanks for the response.

This may be of use:
There is seven routines:
太極拳五路(Taijiquan wu lu-Taijiquan five forms)5 of the routines some say is the 13 postures.
一百零八勢長拳(108 Chang Quan-108 long fist) I wonder if this he combined what he learned from his previous military experience or influence from a long fist style but thats speculation.

炮捶一路(Pao Chui) Cannon fist may have come from his miltary experience or maybe Shaolin or what ever.

Some say most of what Chen Wang Ting taught is lost.

Try this book Taijiquan: The art of nurturing, the science of power.
The book has some great insight on Chen WangTing.
