Arrest made in slaying of North Port taekwondo instructor
By Natalie Shepherd —

Police in North Port have spent months trying to figure out why someone would want to kill a popular taekwondo instructor and teacher at the Manatee School of the Arts.
...

Detectives had little to go on, but North Port police think they now have an answer. Officers arrested 19-year-old Katrelle d'Mario Johnson. He's charged with first-degree murder in connection with the case.

"This was a total random act," said Capt. Robert Estrada. "They had actually seen Ella Ellis at her computer in the front room, and they thought she was alone. It was a robbery attempt."

What a loss... things like this frustrates me. I'm just glad they caught the person.

What a pity. In general, martial arts are useless unless you can get near a gun armed assailant, and even then there is great danger. The suspect, if found guilty, should never again see life outside a jail.
