Our parking lot just outside the window from my desk was cordoned off by Police while I was at work today and we were escorted out of the building at the other side and told to leave quickly. I'm trying to find out just what exactly happened or is happening, but it's not up on local news sites yet. Our back office parking lot is flooded with police cars and it looks like SWAT as well. We have heard that it's an armed stand-off between the Police and a suspect or suspects. The office complex where I work is very nice but that part of the complex (where my desk is and where I usually park) is NOT a good place and before I stopped taking walks there I was accosted twice by belligerent teenagers (mostly uneventful resolutions). It's a good thing that today I parked on the other side of the building (no spaces) because the police wouldn't have let us get our cars there or even get near the door or window that's right by my desk. So, I got to leave three hours early but my work is unfinished and a project I'm working on is right next to where a policeman with what looks like a shotgun is crouching. I'm home safe and I hope the situation, whatever it is, is resolved safely for the officers and civilians in the area.

Oh my gosh!

Hope you are doing OK Jonathan. Stay safe my friend!

I'm glad you're safe. I wouldn't worry too much about your project in the face of your personal safety and that of your coworkers; under the circumstances, I'm sure your boss will understand!

Holy Smokes JR! Now that's a Tuesday! Oh, and the last thing you should be thinking about in a situation like that? ... YOUR PROJECT!!!! ... *SMACK*

Glad you're safe. Let us know what happened.

Apparently it was resolved without injury. A man with a gun barricaded himself with a hostage in his house directly across the street facing our office building.

Wow..that's kinda nuts to have to witness. Glad no one was hurt.

Thanks for the update Jonathan. Glad no one was hurt.
