Anybody keeping an eye on Egypt?

The most promising thing for the whole Middle East is that after a popular uprising against a dictator, the process was hijacked by the religious factions pushing for Sharia law. Now the common men and women are saying, "no, we don't want that". This is most encouraging in that Egypt could become a free secular Arab state. :asian:

It is encouraging but I have to wonder if it will end up with a military dictator!
It always has in the past, possibly because of outside interference. This time I have a feeling it could be different and if it works out it might become the new model.

Until the election, the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court will be managing the day to day running of the country, not the army. :asian:
