wow..
feels like im in an open source martial art forum..
there is open source MA, isnt there?
shaolin thuderbird quan!

Open Source Martial Art...

Freedom to change the source, rename it, redistribute it, learn from it, modify it in any way, but have to give any changes to the community and not restrict how other use it.

Sounds like MMA :D

rename it?
and get all those masters after me for copyrights and patents and stuff?
oh no

Hmmmm... would JKD concepts = Open Source MA?

heh. :idunno:

maybe i should move this to JKD forum
but dont u think that JKD only works for bruce lee?
i mean, making a JKD class itself negates what bruce lee meant by JKD..
he learned multiple styles, and perfected some of them then he was able to create his own style...
but what's happening today is we are adopting a style called JKD.. with one difference is instead of having the choose from your style's strikes, now you can choose from different styles!
for some reason i feel JKD thesedays is being McDojoed as well, and it's turning into a version of Silat, Muay Thai, and JJ... without perfecting either of those arts!

Check out the discussion in the JKD forum. People are always talking about these very things!

i knew i brought that up in the wrong place

So a McDojo is widely used, more expensive then the competition, and will cause you trouble if you try and use it right?

I guess that makes Norton a McDojo? :D
