A former finance minister and Harvard graduate claimed victory Thursday in Liberia's presidential election, a win that, if certified, would make her the first elected female leader ever in Africa.

I was a bit surprised to find she will be the first female leader on the whole continent--though on reflection, I shouldn't have been. Obviously, then, it's about time.

Then for this continent, we may have a solution in 2008!

I heard an interview with the 'Iron Lady' earlier this week. She is a kick.

If we can keep Pat Robertson out of Liberia for the next few years, she might have an excellent administration.

It will be worth watching.
