A Chinese man has pierced his head with 2008 needles to commemorate the forthcoming Olympic Games in Beijing.
In a bizarre publicity stunt, Dr Wei Sheng pierced the decorative needles in his head, face, hands and chest in the five colours of the Olympic rings.

As if the world wasn't weird enough...

These appear to be acupuncture needles, which are quite thin and are designed to go into skin. Still, 2008 needles are a lot....

I wonder why so many of the needles have crosses on the end? is it a symbolic protest at the same time?? a veiled way of protesting??
