The Bush administration takes great exception to being compared with that of Adolph Hitler's Nazi Government. The truth one can imagine, hurts.

Comparing the US Patriot Act to the German Enabling Act is an interesting read, especially when one knows the end of the German story.

The question here is not is it or is it not happening. It is.
The question is, can we stop the further slide of this nation before the only solution involves use of arms on our own soil, against our own people?

I thought Internet lore has something about the ultimate end of all online discussions is when someone links the current topic to the Nazi regime or Hitler.

=)

I wish I could find the inner faith to answer "yes".

But I can't.

It does. I'm digging around as I've seen several solid comparisons to the fall of Rome as well. LOL

I've heard that Rumsfield and co expect something big to hit on US soil, and one of those "maybes" is an actual armed coup attempt. Most of these stories though are very "conspiracy theory nut" level stuff.

Well, it's about time somebody starting taking Mahmoud Ahmadinejad seriously! ;)

I don't know if US fascism has "progressed" this far. I'd like to see the results of our next two "free" elections first...

That is one of the scariest things I have ever heard. Mostly because it may be true. It has happened to other countries.

I don't have much faith in the next few elections. People continue to ***** about the government, but turn out of voters continues to shrink, while stories of problems at the booth grow. As for the next presidential election...I am still in doubt that there will be one. Detonate 1 small battlefield nuke on the Golden Gate bridge, declare national state of emergency and martial law......far fetched I know, but those who crave power will resort to such things, even in this country I suspect. Hope I'm wrong and in 2 years y'all are laughing at me over it. :)

You know I believe the Republicans have figured out how to rig elections. It will be interesting to see how G.W. goes down in history.

Do you think the siege at Waco was a 'trial balloon' for something much bigger?

Honestly, I don't know. From what I've read about Waco, the government forced the issue and basically forced the situation using more force than was needed. I haven't looked into it much though.
